Born into a life of service, she thought medical training started at birth and you learned the trade through working in the family business-which happened to be Memorial Hospital of Queens. Jill was surrounded by generations of physicians. The pressure to become an MD competed with Jones Soderman’s interest in the life stories and conflicts experienced by those who found themselves in hospital settings.
